Welcome to Brown Bear Education Corporation, located in the beautiful city of Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada.

Our story began in 2016, when I moved to Canada with my two children—my daughter was eight and my son was five. In a new and unfamiliar country, I accompanied them as they began a new chapter in their education. I experienced firsthand the challenges children face when entering a new language and educational environment, and I gradually came to understand the differences between Canadian and Chinese approaches to education, teaching, and learning.

Through this experience, an idea began to take shape: I wanted more children in China to have the opportunity to learn from international educators and experience courses and approaches to education from beyond their own borders. This became the starting point of Brown Bear Education.

In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic led to the much wider adoption of online learning, and Brown Bear Education began offering online courses. At first, our focus was primarily on English as a second language. We wanted to help children develop their English skills and use the language as a tool to understand and connect with the wider world.

As our online programs grew, however, our courses expanded beyond language learning to include reading, writing, critical thinking, and communication. Our student community grew as well. Today, we not only teach students who are learning English, but also welcome a growing number of native English-speaking students to our programs.

Our vision has grown along with them:

Through online education, we hope to remove geographical barriers and give more children access to a wider world of knowledge, meaningful courses, and teachers who are right for them.

To make this possible, we carefully select the educators we work with and collaborate with experienced teachers from Canada and the United States to develop and deliver our courses. Online learning brings these educators together with students from different countries and regions, giving children more choices in how, what, and with whom they learn.

From helping children learn English to opening up more possibilities for learning, Brown Bear Education continues to grow and evolve.

But the idea that started it all remains the same:

Helping more children discover better ways to learn.
